Ah, I really have had so many blog topics to write and tell you about, but finding time to actually sit down and do it is the hard part. I am slacking so bad. I didn't blog about Christmas, or New Years....I missed all of it. I am not going to recap, I will just pick up where we are lately. Well, as you saw in the previous post Cade is starting to walk..Yay! We have pushed for this for so long it seems. He definitely still has to perfect things and find his balance. He is not independently walking yet for sure. Just baby steps...very cute, giggly baby steps. He thinks it is a game now when we say Cade, walk to ...whoever... I am glad he no longer despises it. He is gaining his confidence, slowly but surely. I think something else worth blogging about is that I was able to find some part-time work. I was never really looking, because although extra income would be nice I know I just can't commit to the typical set hours, set schedule type position. I just happen to see a FB update on our local Family and Kids Digest book saying help was needed. I called and here we are...I am employed. It is funny how things work themselves out. This is the type of job that just never comes along. Work from home, set your own hours, that sort of thing. Very few hours without having to adjust my life much. Pretty cool! Anyways, I spent the whole day today cleaning my butt off. Every room, I'm tired...I will catch up again soon.
So, today has been mentally taxing on me. From finishing up my Summer classes and final tests, to losing a dear, fellow PWS Mom friend, and then taking Cade to his first swim practice for the Special Olympics. I've shared extreme highs and extreme lows today, but as I unwind tonight I feel compelled to share this with whoever decides to read it. Some of you may know this about me, but most probably do not. I have always felt a strong attraction to working with those with special needs. It just always felt right and from a young age I remember looking up local jobs and volunteer opportunities..always searching for something to fulfill that desire. I was actually enrolled in college for Family and Consumer Science and was planning to go into Special Education. I had taken the Parapro assessment and actively looking for Para jobs.
