Our One Small Step Event

The date is set for Saturday, May 14th. Cade's 1st Birthday...How special! Still have lots of planning and organizing to do...just wanted to fill everyone in on the date. We will need sponsors and volunteers if anyone can help, let me know. I will continue to update on details! Here is the link to a web page I have started on for the event. Keep checking for updates! :) https://sites.google.com/site/runningforcade/

My (Little) Big Boy!

Just had to share this photo of Cade riding in the buggy for the first time. He was so happy and felt like a big boy! I am so proud of this amazing little guy! :)

Running for Cade

Since Cade's diagnosis I have been itching to start a run or something to raise money for research. Things are finally starting to move forward with that idea. I am training to run and have come in contact with the right people. Since May is PWS awareness month I am trying to get things together for a 5k Walk/Run May 28th. I will post new details as they happen...So be on the look out.

Baby Food

I have decided that instead of buying jar baby food I will make my own. It is much easier than I expected. I pretty much just throw whatever in the food processor and Voila! Cade's Dietitian that has been following him in Florida suddenly moved, so his diet is not being regulated much for now. I am hoping we can get a new one in place for him soon. I do know that PW children do not need a lot of carbs so I try to stay aways from starchy, carb loaded foods. He is still taking in the same amount of formula which is where he gets most nutrition from for now anyways. In the morning, I puree a fruit and occasionally will give oatmeal. In the evening, I puree the meat(protein) and veggie from our supper. He is super happy when he sees his food coming. I have noticed Cade's stomach has been very bloated and I know that along with PWS comes some GI issues. I emailed some pictures to Dr. Miller and she agreed that his stomach was def. distended. We went to the Pediatrician today and the...

So over being sick..Blah!

So, I thought we were lucky to have not gotten the dreaded Flu or whatever else has been going around. I spoke a little too soon and all last week I was sick. It was horrible. Supposedly it  wasn't the Flu...just Upper Respiratory. I felt like I was dying though. I wore a mask and gloves to try to prevent spreading any germs. I finally feel better, but now have two little boys who are congested. :( Thankfully, no fever! Cade is on an antibiotic and breathing treatments as of today. Hopefully, that clears things up for him. He sounds so bad and actually looks like he doesn't feel well. It scares the crap out of me that the congestion can develop into pneumonia so quick with him. I will be so happy when my boys are well again!

Long Overdue!

Ok, so I know I have been behind with my posts lately, but I just haven't made the time. Things have been so busy for us and I have been taking a break from the computer. Our Holidays were great and I will have pics to post soon. Cade is still progressing so well...with new achievements every day...Literally. I think my new favorite thing is hearing "MaMa" when he sees me. Cade has been babbling for a couple months now, but I think he now associates MaMa with me. Maybe not...Maybe it is just coincidence that he says it every time he sees me...I would like to think not though :) We recently started hCG injections with Cade for added strength and some help with some other "Boy Issues." So far things are going great with that. I have noticed more strength lately. He rolls more consistently and sits up really well now. He is starting to try to get somewhere when on his tummy. Still will be a while though before he actually does, but it is a start. He goes twice a we...
